Do not alter the girl’s appearance from the original photo; be sure to preserve her face, individual features, and natural proportions. Create a realistic photo of a couple in the dark romantic Instagram/Pinterest aesthetic, in a 3:4 vertical aspect ratio. Shot with a Canon PowerShot G7 X Mark II, a very close-up shot approximately at chest level, with the camera positioned slightly above the girl’s eye level and angled slightly downward. The composition is tight, with the couple’s faces, shoulders, and arms filling almost the entire frame;
The woman is reclining, leaning slightly against the man’s chest; the man is positioned directly behind her and leaning toward her face. One of his arms wraps around her shoulders, while his other hand very gently cradles the lower part of her chin and cheek. The woman has tilted her head back and turned her face slightly toward him; her eyes are closed, her lips slightly parted, and her expression is relaxed, tender, and sensual. The man gazes tenderly at her face, his head tilted slightly downward; there is minimal distance between them, but the pose looks natural, not staged.
The woman is wearing a black, form-fitting top with a plunging neckline and thin straps; the man is wearing a minimalist black shirt. The woman’s hair is very long, smooth, straight, and thick, falling freely over her shoulder and chest, with a few thin strands naturally separated from one another. Her makeup is sophisticated and expressive: satin-smooth skin with a natural texture, soft contouring, a light dusty-pink blush high on the cheekbones, neatly shaped eyebrows, matte taupe-brown eyeshadow, a long black winged eyeliner, and long, thick lashes with a fox-like effect. The lips are outlined with a cool nude-brown pencil, with a lighter center. The manicure features long, almond-shaped nails in a translucent milky-pink shade. The only accessories are small earrings and a thin chain.
The background is as simple as possible: a light, neutral wall and a small section of a dark sofa, with no unnecessary objects. Soft, diffused light comes from the front-left and slightly from above; the girl’s face is best illuminated, with soft, deep shadows remaining under her cheekbones and chin.
Filter: brightness is very heavily muted, contrast is almost completely removed, highlights are around ?70, shadows are around ?100, and sharpness is around +30. The result should not simply look underexposed: the fair skin remains visible, but the entire photo takes on a rich, muted gray-brown tone; the black clothing becomes deep and matte; and bright areas are subdued. Add very fine digital grain and a slight softness to the image. No HDR, no plastic-looking skin. Pores, eyelashes, lip texture, fine body hair, individual strands of hair, and natural fabric folds are visible. The vibe is that of an intimate, high-end couple’s photo that accidentally ended up in an Instagram photo dump. The effect of a candid shot.
